Follow-up on Egg Poaching

I’m glad so many people appreciated the egg poaching instructions!  I hope you all give it a try–it’s not that hard at all and you can instantly impress people with simple food if you serve a poached egg on top.    I’m writing this follow-up to give credit to the source that taught me how to poach eggs in the first place: an episode of Good Eats.  I love Alton Brown.  If you’ve never seen his show, he’s like the Bill Nye the Science Guy of cooking.  He is goofy, but extremely informative.  And in this episode, he is both of those things to the max.  If you just want to watch the egg poaching section, it’s at about 3:10 on the first section.  But if you’ve got a few minutes, just watch the whole episode.  You’ll learn how to poach all kinds of different things, and you’ll get to see Alton Brown foil a dastardly French chef Mission Impossible-style.
