I just survived an interview that lasted between 7pm last night and 2 pm this afternoon.  It was quite the ordeal!  But I think that it went well, and the food was quite delicious.  Last night there was a mixer and dinner with lots of great food…mixed green salad and a yummy surf-and-terf dish with mashed potatoes, carrots and broccolini.  The Lemonator got to come too, and he definitely approved of the eats.  When we went to check into our hotel room after dinner (paid for by the firm), we discovered that there was something wrong with the room we were supposed to have.  For a moment, this had us worried.  But then, much to our delight, the hotel offered to upgrade us to their $500 a night honeymoon suite for free.  The room was absolutely amazing–lots of space and a beautiful fresco-painted domed roof.  Apparently various presidents and movie stars have stayed there.  When we got to our room, we were greeted with a huge fruit basket and a big bottle of sparkling water, courtesy of the firm.

The fruit basket was the substance of my breakfast the next morning, which was just fine with me.  After breakfast, I headed to the real interviews…all seven of them.  Yipes!  But when we were finished, we were once again fed well with a delicious mexican/spanish style buffet lunch.  I had a green salad, a small tamale and Spanish-style chicken with raisins, almonds, green olives and caramelized onions.  And for dessert, a dense cake (I think lemon-almond) sitting in a bed of vanilla creme anglaise.  Yum.

I will say one thing for big firm interview…they may terrify you, but they also feed you well!

  1. Wowza, that’s QUITE a long interview you went through – whew!! Glad you made it through, AND got to eat deliciously 🙂

  2. Oh, yes they do. They will continue to feed you when you are a summer associate, too.
